I found this guy who is willing to give me a gtx 970 founders edition for $60! I know it’s a great deal but I want to make sure it is. What tips would you give me for buying off Craigslist.thanks

Solution
GTX970 is still somewhere between GTX1060 3gb and 6gb.
The price even for s second handed should be still quite higher than 100 bucks.
60 bucks? I dunno...the offer does look too good to be true.
If it is still working perfectly, you are lucky...but..I just have this feeling that he is trying to trick you to buy a broken GTX970.

The FE cards didn't come out until the 10 series as I remember. I've seen 970s go for $80-100 before, so this one is very much on the cheaper end. If it can game and not a dust ball it might be a good deal.

Edit: I just looked, I forgot about the GPU price problems right now. $60 is way cheap. I would double and triple check that card.

Nah, they were there for the 970/980

Nope.

https://www.hardocp.com/article/2016/05/09/nvidia_founders_edition_cards_yea_or_nay

So there we all were watching the NVIDIA live stream announcing the GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 video cards Friday night and we all got to see these slides. This was the first time I have seen NVIDIA use the name "Founders Edition" in reference to a video card.

There have always been launch "official" cards from Nvidia. If you meant those then sure. But FE cards didn't come out until the 10 series. This isn't worth hijacking a thread over. Lets move on.
