gtx 970 from a gtx 960

Hi all I've got a Evga gtx 960 ssc I'm looking at getting a gtx 970 but is it worth it I have a i5 4670k 8gb ram and I have a 1080p 60 Hz panel

A 970 is a much better match for your system but I it is worth it is down to you. There are loads of benchmarks to help you compare

Is it worth waiting for the new amd cards to come out as e3 is just weeks away

It is a huge step up. Currently there is quite a gap between 970 and 960. But we probably won't see anything that will fill the gap. So far there is not even a rumor about it. Probably it has to do with GM204 itself. Even 970 have weird configuration when nvidia disable portion of SMM inside GM204. If you don't really need the performance maybe you can hold out until pascal arrive
