Hey everyone, so I overclocked my gtx 970 and upped the core voltage and it caused issues, so I removed the overclock and it's still causing issues. There's some strange motion problem in battlefield 4 where when I fire, the scope seems to leave some kind of trail and when I started playing on golmund railway the textures on the ground looked odd, but later resolved. Also, objects such as blades of grass and vehecles are slow to load and suddenly appear in the game. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Solution
Sounds like you may have damaged your VRAM from your overclock. "Ghosting" like this and slow loading textures are the major symptoms of bad Video Memory.
Well, I upped the core voltage to the max as some bogus overclocking guide told me to do so, then after about 2 days I completely downed the core voltage frequency to the minimum, decreased the core clock to 125 and mem clock to 330. I'd say it performs better, but certainly not well. The funny thing is that the fps is always above 70 on ultra settings.

Well it's not a power problem then.
I really dislike any guide that says, "do this, and don't worry it's safe" without telling you what can go wrong.
The problem with overclocking in general is you can never be sure exactly what quality chip you have until you stress it on your overclock. There is a phrase called "binning" that refers to the chip quality. It's likely you got a "bottom-binned" GTX 970, meaning it will perform fine at stock speeds, but can get unstable as you overclock it.
The way the guides SHOULD say to overclock is to slowly bump each setting up and stress test it after each change. If it crashes or artifacts, you hit the limit. You can try to bump the voltage a bit from there and see if it stabilizes it but you risk damage the higher you go in voltage.
If you haven't had the GPU very long and it's still in warranty you can put a claim in. Don't mention the overclock though.

So I stopped using my computer for a while and I booted it back on again updated my drivers and I ran bf4 through some fixing tool on origin and there weren't any more artifacts (so far)... this is really weird... all I did was run some game fixer tool on origin and update my drivers. Is there any explanation for that? Lol. And also I don't know if this is normal because I'm a pc gaming noob but in battlefield 4 I can sometimes see textures and shadows of kind of far away objects load in XD idk I a noob or is this an issue?
