hey guy, im not sure if i need to update the cards bios or not but id thought id ask to see if any one else has an easy fix for this issue.

got a 4K tv (LG uv8350B) gtx 970 and a hdmi 4k60hz cable, now i can get 4k resolution but the imput is terrible (with gaming mode on too) and the card doesnt show that the native resolution is 4k but 1080p, in 1080p the input lag is nice and low but the tv doesnt scale well because its. well, a 4k tv. at 4k its more like its forced 4K (uhd) and on the select input on my tv it says at 4K or more resolution at 50hz is not supported.

all i can think of is that the cable isnt capable of 4k60hz or the card isnt liking the 4k.

i do see many people having a 4:4:4 issue and few having to flash their bois to sort many 4K issues (most being LG tvs with 970's)

thanks for the replys guys, yes drivers are updated and the tv yes, not 100% on the cable as it is like a £10 one off amazon and you know, trust issues xP.

unfortunately no display port.

just worried about flashing, using an msi card and there is no bois switch

HDMI cables are universal, just search and read and you'll see that it is really just a marketing gimmick to get people to spend more than they need on cables. As far as I understand, you may not be able to get 60Hz out of HDMI for 4K. I know this is true for my monitor (Samsung UD590 28" 4K) as it caps at 30Hz for HDMI. Display port is the only way for me to get the full 60Hz. I am running dual 970s myself. I cannot remember all the details at the moment but basically, some 4K monitors will utilize two HDMI inputs to put together two internal 1920x2160 vertical panels into the single 3840x2160 panel. Not sure exactly how this works or this is now an outdated method. It was certainly an approach in early 4K. This is probably where the issue is found: cable is fine, 4K cannot run 60Hz off HDMI (yet?). Guys at BestBuy originally sold me a really expensive cable that one of the workers swore was what was needed. When I realized that I was not getting the 60Hz on the HDMI, I started doing more research and found it was the DisplayPort cable that was needed. I am using the stock one that came with my monitor, now it does 60Hz with no hiccups. Needless to say I went back to BestBuy and returned the cable. That is also when I found a lot of information supporting that HDMI cables are basically all just as good as another when it comes to video, they just try to make big money off of people that don't know any better. As for your TV, sadly, you may not be able to get the 60Hz. Check the documentation that came with it and read through there, it may say something about it in there.
