GTX 970 HDMI 1.4 will it work?

Will the GTX 970 work with a hdmi 1.4 cable on a 1.4 hdmi input monitor? Because I read somewhere that the gtx 970 has 2.0

Yes it will still work with HDMI 1.4.

A HDMI 1.3 cable is exactly the same as a HDMI 2.0 cable except for better electrical specifications to support the higher signaling bandwidth.

Since your monitor only supports up to HDMI 1.4 though, there is no point in worrying about the GPU supporting HDMI 2.0 since it will operate within HDMI 1.4 spec supported by the monitor.
