i asked this question like a hour ago but got no responses so im gonna go ahead and ask again

ok so i know some of you are thinking why put a gtx 970 into a core 2 quad q9550
i will explain
it is just temporary im gonna be building a new rig over the next 2 to 3 months
part by part eventully i think im gonna get either a really fast i5 or decent i7
but until then im just gonna buy the gtx 970 for starters

but until the new rig is complete i was wondering if the gtx 970 would fit in my core2quad q9550
the q9550 has pci xpress 16 and a big case with a brand new corsair 750watt psu
and at the moment is holding a gtx 570 im pretty sure it will fit and work fine

and i have another question because im probably gonna be buying the gtx 970 in like 3 or 4 days
when i get paid and out of this list on ebay which gtx 970 would be the best to pick

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_udlo=200&_udhi=305&_mPr...|R40|R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=gtx+970&rt=nc&LH_BIN=1

oh and if the link doesnt work when you click on it you might just have to copy and paste it

thankyou all
much appreciated

A GTX970 would be perfectly fine.
It is a nice upgrade over a GTX570.
I like the two step upgrade approach.

If you are buying new, buy from a recognized etailer like newegg or amazon.
If there is a problem, you can exchange it more easily. They can buy cheaper and don't need to mark up so much.

If you are buying used, buy only from an individual with good feedback and a solid return policy.
Look for GTX970 in used condition. Then filter on completed auctions. In green you will see what the cards are actually selling for.
