Gtx 970 lag

Last week I built a gaming pc and it worked perfectly on minecraft when I set it to 60 fps. However, today when I went to play minecraft the fps kept dropping. I have a gigabyte gtx 970. What's wrong with it? Please help.

I assume you're playing on vanilla Minecraft (no mods). What is your render distance set at? Also, make sure that you have more than 1GB of RAM allocated to Minecraft, it eats it up fast depending on what you're doing.

It also lags on arma 3 and everything on the pc takes so long to open

Well, its not your card's performance, I have Intel Iris in my laptop and it runs MC smooth as butter, Make sure your drivers are up to date, and fiddle around with your MC settings.

if everything is running slow then I would guess some kind of maleware or hardware bottleneck like CPU or RAM
