gtx 970 lags

I recently bought a gtx 970, intalled drivers correctly and re-installed the game, but the game just feels laggy, what should I do?

from where you installed driver for gtx970? dvd came with it?

I installed the drivers with the disc I have received with the graphics card when I bought it.
