I know there are literally 9 gagillion threads about new GTX stuff, but I'm having trouble separating the wheat from the chaff.
I'm building a new PC build with Intel i5 6600, and was holding out for the GTX 1070. The $379 non-founders edition was the top price point I was willing to spend. But now I'm hearing the "non-founder's edition" model isn't even going to be available to buy?? If that's the case I will go pick up a 970 right now for $279. But am I just misunderstanding something about these non-founder's edition cards?
The only game I have any intention of playing is Star Citizen, which I know requirements are still totally up in the air on. But I'll be playing at 1080p and am getting the sense that a 1070 might be overkill anyway?
Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks.
