Final question concerning my build

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2FBF3C

Things marked as purchased I have. Things just marked down to zero without '(purchased)' are things I would have to sacrifice to fit in a GTX 980 at my price point. For HDDs I currently have two laptop 500gb drives from a couple old laptops and a really old like 138gb 3.5in Seagate Barracuda HDD from a pretty old computer. I'm wondering If I should cut out the extra drives, ram, and (unfortunately) the ssd to afford the GTX 980 and add the rest later when my wallet stop crying.

I have 16 gigs of ram, never used more than like 10(this is like with 3 games open). 8 should be enough for most people. I would recommend you to just skip the WD black series and buy another hdd when you really need one.

Thanks for the advice. The ram is actually for photoshop and content creation, photoshop can be a resource hog. It can use over 100gb just in the scratch disk so more ram is always welcome when working with large files that have multiple high res layers and multiple files open at once. Yeah the ssd was the biggest thing I didn't want to lose, you guys make a good point.

My mind set was that if I did this I wouldn't have to upgrade my gpu for around 5 years, and could focus on first getting an ssd then more new HDDs and the ram. I could also upgrade the CPU before I'd need a new GPU.

This system is to be both a gaming machine and a WS.

I think you guys might be right. A 970 is worth every penny and I wasn't sure about paying such a price premium for a small performance increase. Hopefully if I go with the 970 by the time I SLI the new freesync tech will be mainstream.

Concerning my choice for a black drive, I don't mind paying the same price as a 1tb WD blue drive for a 750gb black drive that has the addition of a 5 year warranty and better reliability. I want to make sure most my parts are warrantied for 5 years for peace of mind.
