GTX 970 or 980

Hey guy,

I want to buy the Gigabyte GTX 970 Windforce, which is perfect for my blue themed build.
it costs 360 euros
but i got an offer for 425, to buy the Asus Strix 980. It is brand new
but i def. want the windforce.
so should i buy the 970 or the 980 and sell it for a higher price and then buy the windforce 980?

I'd get Strix 980 for extra 65 euro. (only if it's brand new, with warranty.) It will be better performance/value than 970.

I'd suggest a good 970 and overclock it. 980 doesn't OC as well as a 970 and a 970 @ 1500 is pretty common and nearly matches the stock 980 for MUCH less money.

EVGA, MSI and Gigabyte are my favorites.

I personally went with the Gigabyte G1 gaming and custom BIOS modded it. Runs at 1202 / 1506 core and 3805 vRAM.

Not hard to do. Just do your research first. This also fixed driver CTDs as the Maxwell voltages in the midrange boost states are too low. I didn't need to bump max voltage as much as the MIN voltage to get the crashes to stop. Rock solid for 3+ months now.
