Hello, my current specs are:

MSI Gaming 5
Gtx 960
8gb Corsair Vengeance
i5-4460
250gb 850 Evo
650w Supernova G2

I use a 60hz 1080p monitor and for my next upgrade I was thinking of upgrading my gpu, either to a gtx 970 or a gtx 980 ti. Now, which card would be better for my circumstances?Also, just one more question, what is the point in getting a 4k monitor when I can just use DSR?

Thanks,

Matt

Solution
Go GTX 970 for 1080P then when you go to 4k, get pascal. :)

DSR is nice, but it is not magic, just because it can render 4k then downscale it to 1080P doesn't mean it's 4k to your EYES. A 4k screen at it's native res is always going to look far better than what any kind of AA can accomplish.

970 is perfect for 1080p. Dont get the 980ti, 4460 will bottleneck.

Here's my tip to you;

If you want to go to future-proofing or play 4K at at today's game with good fps --> GTX 980ti

If you will just play today's game at 1080p to 1440p and you will stick with your i5 4460, I will just recommend you the --> GTX 970

Will it really bottleneck? I've read, even on this forum, that the 980 ti will not bottleneck the 4460

In modern day games , yes, older ones, no.
