So my 290 has been having problems when I run 3 monitors and game. I have a 1080p TV that is used for movies and shows that is connected to my computer then I have a 1440p Asus monitor for gaming and a 1080p monitor next to it. I figured out the problem it was overheating, So I turned the speed down and turned the fan up. Problem solved, But now I have this graphics card that sounds like a leaf blower in my room. ( I got it because it was cheaper than a 780 ti at the time) So now my option is should I look into after market cooling like the corsair hg10 a1 paired with an h60 cooler or should I just get the gtx 970? I know there was something about the 970 like the specs were not true or something, But I feel like for 300 dollars it's still a good deal. I don't know, I need some help.

no its not, a r9 290 and gtx 970 trade blows in almost all games, the 970 beats it by a couple of Frames.
Getting a 970 when you already have a r9 290 wont change anything, you will still get the same FPS, have you know my OC r9 290 trades blows with a 980.

You should only consider replacing your 290 with a GTX 970 if you are able to return the 290. Otherwise you should try to look for better cooling options.

Seeing as we have both those cards in the shop. Bench marked both and we saw a 35 to 40% increase on most (95%) of the games and software tested. I would say not a lie. So until you guys have a shop and tools to test. Shut up!

Publish your results or shut up, I would say.

All these well known and trusted sites say lie. So you and your little bootleg test set up can go and have a whole room full of seats.

So too you guys it does not matter that the GTX has
40% or higher effective memory clock speed.
40% higher memory clock speed.
5% higher clock speed.
Around 20% higher turbo clock speed.

Hey whatever guys. You want to give wrong information. More power too you.

I had my say and not going to have a battle of wits with unarmed people online.
Have fun and have a nice day.

Blah, blah, blah. I posted results, you didn't. Where are your results to dispute those from the well known sites, including this one? Don't try that misdirection with listing specs ans such as if that's evidence. I posted results, we expect you to do the same.

You have no idea what your talking about. Please stop posting now.

its not good to troll dude, these numbers mean nothing, your comparing 2 different architectures, and from what i remember the r9 290 has much faster memory bus than the 970, 512 vs 256, you should really stop using GPuboss for information :)
