Hey guys i just build a new rig with gtx 970 and 4690k. But i only have ACU to bleed out my gpu-cpu. But the problem is the game is randomly freezing and getting normal after a few seconds. Why is this happening? Is my new gpu faulty? Is there any software to test it? I am really stressed out about my gpu being faulty since I ordered it online and don't want to get RMA hassle unless really necessary . So please help.........

What settings you use in ACU? Dont use MSAA, it will push Vram usage over "magic" 3.5gb and problems begins.

Download MSI Afterburner and monitor GPU/CPU usage, clocks and temps while gaming to see what happens when freezing starts.

I have 8 GB ram and a 730w psu. I also didn't overclock my cpu or gpu. How can i monitor stats while i am in the game? Is there any good benchmark software you can vouch for to check if my gpu is the culprit?

It can very well be the .5 gb issuer the 970 has. The last .5gb of memory the card accesses is very slow compared to the rest of memory causing stutters or huge bottleneck. It can only use this .5gb when you are in high resolutions, or enough post processing such as msaa is enabled.
