GTX 970 power supply connector help

I've ordered a GTX 970, and it requires 2 male 6 pin connectors.

My power supply has plenty of free 8 pin spots available (same type as in the picture below - although not the same PSU):

The connector on the GPU is the same as pictured below (not exactly the same model though again):

My power supply already has an 8 pin to 6+2 pin cable that fits (male to male), and I had 2 questions regarding this. Firstly, can I run two separate 8 pin to 6+2 pin cables into the GPU, or does it need to be an 8 pin to 6+2 x 2 pin (like this one).

I see some reviews on a couple of these cables too that some of them are melting?! What do I need to look out for when buying this cable?

Ideally I'd like to be able to buy another 8 pin to 6+2 pin cable and thats it, but again, I don't know if you're allowed to run 2 separate cables into the PSU, or whether it has to be a daisy-chained cable.
I am also wondering why it's so difficult to find an 8 pin to 6+2 pin on amazon, since all of the cables that are advertised as for a GPU is 8 pin to 6 pin (female) - which is really confusing.

Help is appreciated! If anyone can link me to a compatible cable in the UK (preferably amazon) I will be forever greatful!

This one is 8 pin to 8 pin + 6 pin - I thought I needed 8 pin to 2x6 pin to fit my GPU (which requires 2 6 pins)?

SO just to make sure, I already have an existing 8 pin to 6+2 pin cable (so I'll use that to cover one of the connectors for the GPU).

So I just need to buy another 8 pin to 6+2 pin cable and plug that in, it doesn't matter if I have 2 separate cables?

Also do you have any recommendations to find these cables, as male-to-male 8 pin to 6+2pin seems pretty rare as I can't really find any on UK amazon.

I don't have these anymore - the computer was built for my dad by a company a couple of years ago and they took all the leftover cables.
I just need to know if I can run 2 separate cables (both 8 pin to 6+2 pin).

If so - again, if anyone can link me to one available in the UK then that would be great (amazon preferred because everywhere else seems to take an age for delivery!)
