Ok hey guys, first post on here.

So basically I've bought a GTX 970 4G Gaming from MSI, it looks cool and everything but for some damn reason Windows says there's no Graphics card!

So it's on, and connected:

and here's Device manager:

Windows can't see it -.-

So it's properly mounted:

and the connectors are properly inserted:

So what the hell is the problem?

Little bit of back info, I was upgrading from an AMD R7 260X to this, forgot to delete all that Catalyst Control Centre crap and installed all the Nvidia shit and it kept failing downloads (because Nvidia couldn't detect a graphics card presumably) on the drivers, etc. Really annoying so I deleted all AMD related items and Nvidia, rebooted and still having the same problems, all I can think of is I've got a dead video card 🙁 But it turns on fine, just windows doesn't detect it which sucks.

Also it's unbelievably annoying because the top resolution for my screen is now 1280X1024 (dafuq?) while my screen is a 1600X900 (Yes I know, I've ordered a 1440p monitor)

My PSU can handle this Graphics card.

Motherboard: Gigabyte Z97X-SLI
CPU: Intel i5 4670K 3.5Ghz
PSU: Corsair CX600
RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB DDR3 1866Mhz
Graphics card: MSI GTX 970 4G Gaming (Obviously)

Anyway, hope you can help, thanks for reading this and have a good day!

Solution
Try and uninstall all your graphics drivers that have to do with NVIDIA and reinstall the latest version before doing a fresh installation of Windows.
Probably older drivers conflicting with each other
I recommend fresh installation of windows or you can always clean the registry files of all the old stuff you had but I am with the windows new installation

Ok, so I guess that's a job for tomorrow, I'll give it a blast. Thanks for the speedy reply bud!

Ok, I'll give that a go, thanks again :)

Shall do bud, thanks!

Will do! I'll keep you fully updated (e.g. have to replace it etc) thanks again guys!
