Gtx 970 quite hot

Hey guys,

I have been the user of a Zotac gtx 970 amp omega! and have been pretty happy with it apart from the heat. Some points it can reach the 80 degrees c thermal throttling temperature, which causes me a bit of concern. Trying to 'resolve' the problem, I purchased an additional VGA cooler and replaced the intake on my case with a jetflo 120 ( lotsa air but loud :/ ). On top of that I have also changed the side fans on my case for airflow.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, does anyone else have a similar heat issue? Also my budget for cooling solutions is fairly low.

Did you try to monitor the temp with some other tool like RealTemp just to make sure some programs report inappropriate temp for some strange reasons. Try Msi afterburner or RealTemp and see if you get the same results.

I use msi afterburner anyway as I use it for a custom fan profile. I also used the program that came with the graphics card ( zotac firestorm ) and I used hwinfo, all read the same temps.
