So I have a Palit GTX 970 (stock, yea i know XD ) and was thinking to overclock it a bit. I tried overclocking it but i don't think I' m doing it right or even getting the right numbers.

My current (clearly crappy) overclock:
Core Voltage: +2
Core Clock: +179
Memory Clock: +400
Power Limit: 105

So yea im dumb. But I'll listen to what you people recommend.

Yep, that's exactly what I'm saying.
Both of my Maxwell parts turboed to 1416 MHz, so that's about right.

Turn the power limit up to 120 or as high as it goes (might only be 110 depending on your external power connectors). +400 seems generally what the memory can do so I'd keep that.

As for the core, I would try for the max stable overclock without increasing voltage. Start at 100 and go up in 25 MHz increments until it is no longer stable, then go back down. A good quick test is Unigine Valley Ultra in 4K (via DSR). If the core isn't up to it, it should freeze pretty quickly, if the memory isn't up to it then it should glich pretty quickly.

Im not sure i can use DSR with this screen but I'll do the test at te highest res i can.

ASCI Quality: 65.2%

With that ASIC, you're right where I'd expect you to be. Even though it's debatable, my personal experience tells me that ASIC score is a very good predictor of overclockability. With the bigger Maxwells (970 to TitanX), I've found that on air 65=1400, 70=1450, 75=1500, give or take for slight variation in cooling and voltage.

so what your saying is just leave it as it is ?

Yep, that's exactly what I'm saying.
