GTX 970 Reference vs Custom card

Hi guys i an curioous what is better nvidias reference or third party custom versions of the gtx 970? I know some companys have designed cooling but is the refernce version good? I got my eye on it cuz it looks pretty badass

The referenc cooler is relativley hot and loud, you wont get the full potential out of the card. Newegg is currently selling the gigabyte 970 g1 gaming for 330$ , that card is more or less the best 970 you can get.

Ok thanks for the advice. I'm upgrading at xmas so I may get it if it's at my local Best Buy and if not I'll go with EVGA because they are good too especially customer support

Yeah evga is great i gave their 970 sc. I never had any problems with it and the customer service is great ( just askked them a few thing about the ard once i got a response in less than 5h)

Yep. never had issues with this evga 760 so thats why i am considering them again but if i get an r9 390 ill get another good aftermarket manufacturerer
