I recently purchased an EVGA GTX 970 SSC ACX 2.0 and An Asus Strix GTX 970 soon after. I have tried everything to get them to work in SLI and nothing has worked. I tried Different SLI Auto. That gave maybe 15% performance increase, but added a weird glitch with screen flickering when trying to use DSR. If anyone has a solution to this problem, please let me know. I don't want to have wasted $350.

I added to my last post ---

the 970 is not a NVidia reference card so so changes can be made to them out side NVidia specs. evga came out with a new sli bridge for there newer cards outside I guess of the NVidia standard [ ???]

so maybe there older cards will but the newer ones don't unless with there same newer release sister cards [???]

crazy ,and I really don't get that move myself but I guess they want to keep there cards ''there cards''

I've updated all of my drivers and latest one from Nvidia as well. The SLI bridge IS connected. Nvidia has false information on their website if these two cards are not compatible. Their website FAQ says it doesn't matter what brands the cards are from.

So, there's a newer SLI bridge I can buy? In case anyone is wondering, I'm using the the Asus SLI bridge that came with my Z97 Pro motherboard.

They're all in it just for the money, like any big corporation. Video game studios add stupid "locks" to their stuff too. The game console manufacturers aren't innocent either.

anandtech...........

Furthermore, as we mentioned in our GTX 980 review, GTX 970 has been a pure virtual (no reference card) launch, which means all of NVIDIA’s partners are launching their custom cards right out of the gate. A lot of these have been recycled or otherwise only slightly modified GTX 700/600 series designs, owing to the fact that GM204’s memory bus has been held at 256-bits and its power requirements are so low.

Did you get an answer to this? i am having the same problem . Here are my bioses

thing is to buy the cards at the same time to better insure you get ''matched'' cards.. even if you buy the same card s but months apart they may not be the same .. the newer card may of had changes over the first original card .. memory - first card may of come with samsung the later card may come with elpidea -- bios - first card may have a first release bios latest card may now come with a totally different updated bios and so on....

also you see most true sli guys all ways go with the reference cards - and theres a reason for that they don't get revised often and blower coolers draw out the heat
