gtx 970 sli or 290x crossfire?

At high resolutions(1440p and 4k) which configuration is better? A 970 sli or 290x crossfire? I plan on buying 1 970 or 290x and then buy another 1 in the near future(5-6 months). I will choose depending on which one has better multi card config (sli or crossfire). Performance is number1 priority, power consumption 2,silence 3, cooling 4.There price is pretty much the same. I wanna know which configuration performs better at 4k specifically.

go for the xfire r9 290x because at higher resolutions they perform better but if you are worried about the power consumption then they are not for you

If performance is number one priority, go for the r9 290x crossfire setup. As for power consumption, make sure your PSU is beefy enough; AMD cards are power hungry ones.

Edit: you can get the double 290x for a lower price if you find the right deal too

i dont think u understand what iw as trying to say about power consumption, its not about the psu, where i live electricity is a bit expensive.

Then go for the GTX 970 SLI and buy a power efficient PSU; 500 watt power consumption for just the video cards is an assassination contract on your power bill. The GTX 970s will save you a lot in the long term. Neither card setup will perform perfectly at 4k anyway.
