Gtx 970 sli vs 980 1080p gaming

Hi I will be gaming at 1080p and wanted to know which gpu would be better and I will be gaming on a 50inch tv also if I should go sli could you recommend a motherboard that support sli for about $60.thanks

A single GTX970 is more then enough for 1080p.

Get the GTX 970, it much better price/performance than GTX 980, and GTX 970 SLI is much much better than 980 performance wise. but since you only game at 1080p, a single 970 should be more than enough for now.

Just like the other guys said, a single GTX 970 is more than enough for 1080P. The GTX 770 could handle 1080P 60fps easially too, so the GTX 970 (basically a gtx 780), will be overkill for 1080P.
