I'm sure this has been answered many times but I'm sure it's actually more system specific. Is 650W enough for gtx 970 SLI? I'm probably going to be getting a replacement PSU so now is the time.
I would actually probably prefer to upgrade to a more powerful card rather than do SLI so is 650W also enough to run the most powerful cards out there? I'm not sure if maxing out SSD's and HDD's would make a big difference in the overall system consumption?

System Specs:
Asus Z97-A Mobo
Intel i5 4690K oc'd at 4.284 GHz 1.215v,
Corsair H80i Gt cooler,
Corsair Dominator Platinum 2400 Mhz 8gb
Seasonic X-660KM PSU - probably to be replaced with Seasonic 650KM3 or otherwise..
EVGA GTX 970 oc'd to 1450Mhz core clock, 3800Mhz memory (for some games)
1x SSD, 1x HDD
Corsair Obsidian 450D case
Win 8.1

Solution
650w is enough to run the most powerful single gpu cards(fury x, 980Ti). It can run dual 970s aslong as you dont get crazy with the overclocking. Usually for 2 970s a 750w psu is recommended for headroom/peace of mind. One of the other mods here is running dual 970s on a 620w psu.

Again,

With sli there's hardly reason to overclock the gpu looking at the boost you get.Just use the system at stock and you should be fine.

That 620watt psu is an Antec HCG from what i know, not the same as the one you have right now which is better.

Mousemonkey is running an Corsair HX620.
