Hi. I have a MSI GTX 970 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127832&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=
And I recently purchased this monitor http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236307&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID= and I'm planing on buying 2 more for a triple monitor setup. I'm not really going to be gaming on all three, I just wanted the other 2 for multitasking. My quest is this. When I buy the other 2 monitors this week, Is there a specific configuration of cables i need? Or can I just plug any cable that fits and play?
Only reason i'm asking is, because I always read people that say you need a display port and dvi to run, or Hdmi and dp etc.

A good question that I am not sure I know the answer to. Would depend a bit on the cable they supplied, I think. It might not physically plug in to the DVI-D port if it is fully populated with pins. Otherwise I think it can still carry the digital signal. The DVI-I port has all the pins and openings on the video card, so any cable will plug in.

You'll need an HDMI cable, a DVI to HDMI adapter or cable, and a Display Port to HDMI adapter or cable. That is just the limitations of your available connection types.

I don't believe you'll need an active adapter with this particular GPU.

For DVI to HDMI, does it have to be DVI-I or DVI-D. Only asking because I have 2 DVI ports on my gpu

They come with DVI-D to HDMI. Can I plug in DVI-D in a DVI-I Port?
