Hey, so I'm thinking my GTX 660 OC isn't really gonna last much longer for gaming with high fps so I am wondering whether to invest in one of the 3 cards mentioned above.
My current system:
- Motherboard: Gigabyte H97 Gaming 3
- CPU: Intel xeon E3 1231V3
- GPU: Gigabyte gtx 660 OC
- PSU: 550W 80+bronze
- Memory: 8GB DDR3 at 1333mhz(Though I am planning on upgrading to 16 GB at 1600mhz)
I use dual monitor setup. One for gaming and one for music/videos/browsing, sometimes simultaneously.
So I was thinking what GPU to buy to "future-proof" my PC/system.
I mostly play games like Planetside 2, The elder scrolls, fallout and the witcher 3.
The GPU's I've considered is:
- GTX 970
A seemingly nice GPU, but I'm worried about the VRAM.
I'm not sure there's enough VRAM, since I've heard it only has 3,5 actual VRAM.
- R9 390
A nice GPU, but it needs a lot of power, recommended is 750W PSU.
I only have 550W, so I'd need a new PSU ontop of a new GPU.
- GTX 980 TI
This is probably just a last option. It is very expensive compared to the other 2 and I think it has enough VRAM for me, but it says it needs 600W and that again means new PSU unless it can be streched?
So I'm wondering which option would be best, or if you know a better option?
P.S. just ask if additional information if needed.
