GTX 970 vs. R9 390

has anyone played dayz on 1360x768 with a 970 or a 390 if so, can u tell me if i should get a 970 or a 390 thanks

Even a GTX960 / R9 380 will max out ANYTHING on that resolution. And DayZ is mainly CPU heavy so not really that important to have a high end GPU + it's programmed like shit. One of the worst optimized games ever. So don't expect too much, even with high end hardware.

If that's the resolution you game at, I wouldn't bother with anything more than a 950 unless you're planning to use that system for VR (in which case you'd need a 970).

i would like to get into streaming or youtube and im gonna get a monitor pretty soon

I see. Then what you stated in your original post is not really all that relevant. 1080p would likely be the preferred format for streaming, which has 2x as many pixels as the resolution you're currently gaming at, so right off the bat you'd need 2x as much performance from the graphics card to handle it. Streaming adds additional demands to the system, and in many cases streamers use a second PC to handle the actual streaming so as to avoid any impact to their game.

If you're going to be doing 1080p streaming, then nVidia's ShadowPlay is a pretty nice option for handling the video streaming with minimal impact to performance. I'd say a GTX 970 would be the minimum card to consider for that.
