So my MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G started making this clicking noise whenever i play any game. Righ when any game loads and i start playing the noise begins. The noise is exactly the same as this one ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ks3jAJ1VlLQ
No, it's not the fans, stopped all fans in the PC and the noise persisted. I'm also 100% sure it's the GPU.

Update: So it's probably coil whine coz it's exactly the same as in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ffVqmYdfCCc

Could be a coil whine or something else, make sure your covered by your warranty, and contact MSI and they might suggest a replacement or it could just be a simple coil whine, which won't do any harm, just make an annoying noise.

Hope this helps!

Do you know if coil whine is ever bad for a GPU's health?

Nope, not in the slightest. Its very common. Some cards can make more noise than others.

Enabling Vsync can help, as it often happens under very high load. Also running a video benchmark program for a few hours can help.

OK, thanks I am having that with my STRIX 970 on stratergy games. Glad it does no damage :)

Thanks for your help!

No problem.

Some people have tryed running Unigine Valley for about 3-4hours and it has fixed it or made it quieter.

OK, I actully have that installed I will give it a try if it becomes louder or more common.

Thanks again!
