Hi I just joined because I'm having some issues with my computer

I just reinstalled windows 7 and it seems my graphics card isn't working completely properly, or maybe its the windows OS I'm not sure

I've installed drivers for my graphics card and most of my motherboard drivers.

basically what's happening is I'm getting lag when dragging windows, it's worse when I have a few open and drag over the top of each other but it's still a problem with just one open and the desktop just not quite as severe. I'm also getting lag when scrolling in firefox and other explorers. also getting a horizontal line ruining the picture of movies when fast action scenes happen and when watching flash movies or other movies that may be run by Silverlight or other multimedia frameworks.

here is my specs
Intel core i7-4790k 4GHz
16GB Ram
MSI GTX 970
MSI M Power AC Motherboard
256gb corsair SSD - windows installed on this
3TB HDD

I have installed the latest graphic driver from NVidia via the GeForce experience, my computer didn't have this problem prior to reinstalling windows. It's a fresh install and I deleted the old partitions to go fresh and didn't make an image of my working install stupidly 🙁, am wishing I did now so I could just roll back.

any help would be appreciated.

Regards Randsie

ok so I went to bed after watching a few movies and downloading every single driver ever released for the GTX 970. My computer was meant to do updates after 4 hours cause I postponed it but it went to sleep instead due to power settings. I woke up and woke my computer up and the window lag is gone.

I'd suggest anyone experiencing the problem I described above get the major windows updates, get the driver for your graphics card and main motherboard drivers. install them, then just leave your computer for a day or two. watch a few movies and reset it a few times or let it sleep. I can't put my finger on the exact cause of the problem but I hope that this works for some people.
