GTX 980 6 pin vs 8 pin

So I was thinking about getting a 980 and was looking at getting either the MSI twin frozr or EVGA ACX 2.0. The EVGA card comes with a better stock clock but I plan on overclocking. I'd figure the MSI card because it's got dual 8 pin connectors while the EVGA card has better stock clocks (so I'd think it could do better) but dual 6 pins. Does this make a difference in the overclocking capabilites?

No. I don't think 2 x 8 pin connectors are really needed. http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-980/specifications says 2 x 6pin which is what I'd expect. I think MSI is being conservative. Which is good. But might make a 500W PSU hook up difficult.
