Dear Masters,

Is it possible to have 9800gt along side with my GTX 980?
i want to use the s-video output from 9800gt, to connect with my sony crt tv (gaming emulation purposes) and it has the composite & component input.

how can i manage to get both drivers installed on my win 7 ? (yes i still use win 7 lol)

im sorry if this question seems kinda silly, i just need to keep my self busy during this covid lockdown.

*ps:
incase someone want to give me these following suggestions:
-i already tried emulation via 31khz pc crt monitor.
-i dont want to use hdmi to rca/ component converter
-i dont want to buy that super rare/expensive vga to component transcoder
-i do consider to get s-video amd gpu card, i aimed to get hd 4770 but it's kinda hard to find in my local market (i only have 1x6 pcie pin left, so hd 4870/ 4890 is not my option).

Thank you!

Solution
Looking up the driver support on the nvidia web site for 9800GT and GTX980 with windows 7 64 bit, the latest is 342.01 released in 2016. It shows both supported.
So there would be only a single driver for both cards.
Yes, you can use both, IF your motherboard supports a second graphics card by having an additional PCIe slot that can accommodate it.

Simply install both cards and install the latest Nvidia drivers. There is a slight chance, with the 9800 GT being so old, that support for it in the Nvidia driver package required for your GTX 980 may have been dropped at some point and you might have to use an older Nvidia driver that supports the GTX 980 but still has support for the 9800 GT, but likely it will work. I'm not saying it's a great idea to use a card that old with a modern system, but theoretically it can work.

thanks for replying.
yes i did have an empty pcie slot on my mobo.
so, by seeing your comment,
there is no way to make 9800gt and gtx 980 drivers runs separately & simultaneously ?

You don't NEED different drivers. ONE Nvidia driver SHOULD support both cards. If it doesn't, because they dropped support in the current driver framework for your card at some point, then you could run an older version of the Nvidia drivers that still supports the older card BUT will support the newer card too.

@geofelt , unless you know something I don't, you can't run two different Nvidia drivers. It will only run whichever version is the newest if you try to install two different driver versions of the same product. You can certainly run both an Intel video driver and an AMD or Nvidia driver at the same time, or an Nvidia driver and an AMD driver at the same time, but I am pretty positive that you cannot run both an old Nvidia driver and a new Nvidia driver simultaneously. I'll try to verify that for certain, but I'm pretty damn sure of that.

alright thanks for all the replies!

then i think i will try to seek amd gpu card more harder, because i want to keep my gtx 980 driver updated for newer pc games.
