Hello people, i wanted to ask if GTX 980 is able to handle QHD resolution like 2560x1440p?.
I have MSI GTX 980 4G card and Core i7 4770 @ 3.4 GHz CPU, i am able to play Witcher 3 on Ultra (with Foliage and Shadows set to High) at 1920x1080p resolution without any flaws.
I get consistent 60 FPS, sometimes falling to 50 or something if there's a lot of activity during a fight scene or something.
I wanted to experience QHD so i enabled DSR through Nvidia control panel and changed in-game resolution to 1440p. In most areas the game ran around 50 FPS, but with more effects like rain or fights the FPS dropped to 35-40 FPS. Should this be happening, or is it normal that GTX 980 struggles with 1440p resolution?. I will list my current PC specs also if that would help.
Current PC specs:
CPU: Core i7 4770 @ 3.4 GHx
GPU: MSI GTX 980 4G
RAM: 8 GB
Motherboard: Gigabyte G1 Sniper Z87
PSU: 650W
Thanks.
