MOBO: Asrock Extreme 6

Basically my problem is that I've been looking at benchmarks for the gtx 980 and mine just doesn't seem to add up. I've tried reinstalling drivers but I just can't get near what others are for some games.

I play everything but just for example my Tomb Raider FPS is around 55, and H1Z1 around 50... I've seen videos of people getting much higher scores than me?
I play at 1080P at the moment, I just thought a 980 could get 80+ fps on most games. Any ideas are much appreciated

A factory overclocked GPU certainly makes a difference, but so does CPU (when it comes to a game's FPS). If you are comparing your figures to others who have the same equipment, it could still be quite different depending on how that equipment is configured.

As Yoda says, "Overclock then, you must, for the performance you lust".

I have 8GB Hyper X fury 1866 that was yes all installed at one time and a corsair hx850i psu. Also no I literally built my PC 2 days ago and haven't even began to think about overclocking to be honest. I read somewhere that the G1 comes stock overclocked but I don't think that is actually true. Thanks for the fast response also!

Have you monitored usage and temps for both cpu and gpu under load?

I know how to monitor temps and everything generally stays below 40. If you could tell me how to monitor the usage e and how I could potentially figure out what is wrong by doing so I will be more than obliged.

Exactly, you'd think a game like GTA would be much harder to run than tomb raider no? We're getting equal FPS on games when you're playing a game that takes much moire power to run. I just don't understand how a 980 Is struggling to get 60+ FPS on a game like tombraider....

Afterburner will monitor usage and temps for gpu and cpu in the background or you can set it in the OSD and seen it in game. My 980 idles at close to 40c so if that is your load temperature something isn't right.

The highest it got to was 50c, does changing the power% do anything? It was sitting at 80% power so I thought that might have been what was wrong with it but it turned out that it doesn't make a difference... My GPU temp right now is 35c still going down. Anything else you might suggest?
