Installed my 980 couple weeks ago and i've been playing Hardline and BF4 but my frames are pretty bad. They seem pretty good (100+ FPS) out of the fight but as soon as i get in the hotspots they drop below 60 which is pretty frustrating. Even on other games (League of legends, Minecraft, Call of Duty) the frames aren't poor but it should be performing alot better.

I've monitored the temperatures and usage and it all seems to fine, GPU doesn't go over 60 degrees...

Yeah, but how about the CPU? Let me guess, stock CPU cooler?

From what i remember the cpu was hitting like 70 - 80 i think, with stock cooler.
Is that what is causing the problem?

It most certainly COULD be the issue (if your CPU reaches thermal throttle temp), but first we need to determine the exact temps you are getting. Try using Open HW Monitor or similar software to record the CPU temps in background, and report back the CPU temps from "max" column.

5-10 minutes of Battlefield 4 and the all the cores were around the 73 - 77 degree mark.

[quotemsg=15635042,0,218281]Although this is slightly on the high side, it is nothing to worry about and perfectly normal for a stock cooler.

Try to disable Origin in-game feature - a few people reported that it helps with framerates a lot. Nothing to lose there....[/quotemsg]

Tried most of it haha, can't really think of anything else except a faulty card although it still works well just doesn't give me the full frames it should be giving me. I'm picking up Windows 8 soonish and doing a fresh install so hopefully it might fix something :)
