Question GTX 980 Problem

Hi,

My GTX 980 seems to be dead. My computer has crashed a couple of times playing games, then last night it powered off. I had to unplug power to the PC to get the system to boot. Tried to play some games again today and the PC powered off again. This time I could not get it to boot with the card installed. If I wait for a few minutes, it sometimes will turn on, but with the card's fans running at full speed, and it won't boot. My computer works fine with a different card installed. Anything I can try to do to bring it back to life?

Brand and model of the PSU you use?

What motherboard and CPU?

PSU: XFX PRO Black Edition 850 W 80+ Gold.
It's old, but not sure I have any reason to blame it. I don't have another to test in its place.

Motherboard: MSI X470 Gaming, CPU: Ryzen 5 2600
I don't have another motherboard to test either.

Nothing overclocked for CPU/Memory. I did have the video card very slightly overclocked.
