I have 2 GTX 980's in SLI as of right now and my GPU 1 core clock is at 1390mhz and memory clock is 3505, but my GPU 2 core clock goes to 405mhz core clock and 324mhz memory clock. I am really worried that my second graphics card is dead or something. I have already ran multiple benchmarks, used evga percision x and msi afterburner, put my power options to highest performance, and updated my graphics driver. I recently just fixed the problem that the fan on GPU 2 was not spinning and it was getting really hot and making my computer crash. I am not sure if the high temperatures have ruined the graphics card but I'm not sure what to do now so if you have any idea how to help it is HIGHLY appreciated. Thank you.

Solution
Run the system with only the card you think went bad, does it run properly then? If not, then overheating could have damaged it. Check with the card makers support.
