no the motherboard surely wont bottleneck the gtx 980 regardless of x8 slot because the x8 slot is actually pci e 3.0 which is fast enough for the card to work optimally

Nah man it`s fine! That is a very good board and it will handle one more 980 with ease!! They will just both conform to x8 anyway so it`s cool!! Please sli those bad boys, for us!!!!
