for my asus rog swift monitor should i go for gtx 980 sli or 3way sli i want to run all modern games at ultra high settings and max out so will i go with 980 sli or 980 3way sli for rog swift monitor

Just get x2 980s and you should be more than good. The benefits of a multi-GPU setup really starts to diminish when you get to three cards. Hence the second 980 is way more worth it than the third.

You would only need a single overclocked 970 to accomplish 70FPS on that monitor.
SLI 980 is a waste of money, especially for 1440p.

If you want to go overkill, just grab two 970s instead.

970s are way more worth it economically speaking, they 980s are something like 18% more powerful for ~$220 more.

Also, the scaling issue is what I mentioned earlier. The problem you would face with 3 cards is that the second card would boost your performance from 100% to about 180%-190% on a good day and with a third card you might go from 100% to about 230%-240%. So you'd still be paying for a whole third GPU but you'd get much less performance out of it.

guys can you even run crysis 3 on single gtx 970 with 40fps on 1440p at ultra high settings its impossible 2way sli gtx 970 hardly comes up with 50fps i am asking above 70fps on 1440p ultra high settings can 2 gtx 980 sli give above 70fps on crysis3?

A single 970 will give you 40fps in crysis 3 at 1440p
Dual 970s would give you 70fps in crysis 3 at 1440p

In games like bioshock infinite, BF4, tombraider;
a single 970 will give you 70fps
dual 970s will give you over 100fps

If you are going 3 Way, 5820k is good (Unless there are hidden benefits of getting x16/x16/8 SLI, which case 5930k would be better).

If you are going 2 way only, 5820k is a total waste of money over 4790k.
