so i currently have a reference design gtx 980 card, im planning on getting another for 200$, it will also be a reference card, so im wondering if this will cause them to run too hot? or will they be fine
AND to those that wiull tell me to sell my current 980 and buy a single card, let me know when u find a 1080 for 400 dollars,

Solution
Cards on SLI/XFire run usually hooter due to the bad airflow or bad cooling solution on most cases.
However, reference models should be ok. The airflow is different than most custom cards.
I would say, you can do it.
Just do not forget the pros and cons of having multi-GPU setup.

As for GTX1080 for USD400, this ain't happening at least for the next months...not until those mining madness stopped.
