CPU: Intel Core i5 3570 @ 3.40 GHz
RAM: 8GB
Motherboard: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. P8H77-M (LGA1155)
GPU: (Currently) Zotac GTX 570
PSU: OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W

I have 2 questions for this.
1. If I cram a GTX 980 Ti in here, will all the other gear work/be compatible with this?
2. Should I upgrade any other hardware?

What I am trying to achieve with this gear is playing new games at 1080p and 60 frames or higher at ultra settings. But maybe my processor won't be on par with my soon to be bought GTX 980 Ti.

And hey, maybe the 980 Ti is overkill, but I'm pretty much after the VRAM. I'm just thinking that future games will use more of it and the disaster of 970 with the 3.5 GB might not satisfy me. Maybe I should buy 2 GTX 970? But then I might need to upgrade my PSU. Help me decide guys!

Solution
I'd go for the 980Ti over two GTX 970 - it's a more powerful card through and through.

That said I'd look at a RAM upgrade as well for further future proofing to 16GB, just to make sure you have enough with larger games etc.

The rest should be okay, but maybe a new PSU next...
980 Ti is a wise option. But you will only get the full benefit of it if the OS is upgraded to Windows 10. Then you will be able to use this GPU along with your CPU and get a good performance out of it.

But for that, it might take some time. DX12 games have to be out there for this. But Scope for future proofing is there.

+1 for future proofing.

I did say further future proofing 😉 It wouldn't be the most important thing on the list - we agree there.

But 16GB isn't too steep at the moment so it's worth looking at as an option for the future.

What's wrong with the PSU? Is it because it is a nonfamiliar brand? Or am I in need of more wattage?
Maybe help me choose a new PSU for my upcoming gear since I'm not so knowledgeable on PSU's

Agreed... I've got the 850W version and it's superbly built and seems to run very well indeed. No complaints so far.

Great, I've actually been looking at it, but thought 750W was too much, maybe it's not..
