There are two gigabyte models for the 980 ti, one that costs more and is white with black, while the other is the usual gigabyte windforce look. What's the difference?

I couldn't find a definitive answer except the black and white one, Gigabyte G1, has higher speeds all around, and it's $30 more so i guess it the better card. maybe the other is for certain build scheme's

WAIT! You should check out the zotac GTX 980Ti Amp Extreme Edition. It's even faster than the ones you are looking at.

It is 3 slots wide though so you need to check it will fit. 5 Year warranty comes with it as well as a game (Metal Gear Solid), it has a good back plate, great fans, Custom PCB, great overclock, great thermals and is overall the best card I have ever owned.

Well I don't know about Gigabyte, but the fans on this here zotac are good, they are a special design and the huge heat sinks really do their job, my core clock is running 1455Mhz on boost with no problems at all. That's 1455Mhz out the box, was only supposed to boost to 1355mhz but I guess they managed to squeeze more out of the card.

Just did a quick test for you, running Unigine Valley for a few minutes and the core clock is running at 1455Mhz, the temperature is jumping about between 65-70C, with the occasional highest temp of 73C for a split second. Ambient temp of the room is 23C.

Hope that helps you choose, let us know how it works out for you.

Do you think the s340 would be able to fit it in? Also, do you experience coil whine? One last question... what if I plan to sli let's say 3 or 4 years from now?
