GTX 980 Ti Help!

So this graphics card has Supplementary Power Connectors of 6 pin and 8 pin.
Do I need to connect both of those pins? My psu does have a wire with a 8 pin and 6 pin connector. (Or do I just connect the 8 pin).

PS: Sorry this may be a stupid question, first time builder here 😀

Just want to point out that there's no need to waste time asking others; the instructional card that comes in the package tells you what you need to know, such as the fact that you NEED both power connectors.

Ok thanks, now my psu came with multiple VGA wires. Should i use 2 wires 1 which connects to the 8 pin and 1 to the 6 pin. Or should i use only 1 wire which has both the 8 pin and 6 pin and connect that to the 2.

I assume you have a PSU with multiple 12v rails, you will want to put one on each rail if you can- assuming that is what you mean. What is your PSU make/model?

I have an EVGA 850w gold. Just a little confused with the graphics card. As the PSU came with multiple VGA wires (assuming for SLI). But as im only using 1 graphics card should I connect only 1 VGA wire to the 8 pin and 6 pin (As they have both connections available). Or should i use 2 VGA connection and connect 1 to the 8 pin and another to the 6 pin.

The psu is modular; you put one end of a cable into the psu and the other end into the GTX980ti.
You do this twice. Once for the 8 pin graphics port, and the second for the 6 pin port.
The cards needs both a 6 and a 8 pin power cable.
Do not force anything, parts fit only one way.
