So two days ago, I noticed when I started a game my PC got ridiculously loud, then I checked the temps and saw that my gpu was around 80 celcius. I then started a game again and it was at 100 celcius for around 30 to 45 seconds before I turned it off.

I then opened it and I moved some wires that were somewhat in the way of the intake and made sure the wires were all connected, and the problem was fixed. I'm still curious as to what the problem was, though. Could it have been that the water cooler was disconnected? I know there's a connector, but I'm not sure if it powers the cooler and it did not seem loose, though it may have been. Also, may this have damaged the card?

Thanks.

Edit: Prior and afterwards, it runs at around 28(now) celcius to 54 celcius max.

Maybe the wires were just blocking the fan so it couldn't spin and circulate air, maybe the cooler was disconnected but I don't know which Hybrid you have as they plug into different places. Just keep an eye on your temps for a while and you should be fine. No damage would have been done from a short burst at a high temperature, the card would have throttled to save its self.
