Alright so today i finally received my EVGA 980 ti SC. I went from a 780 SC SLI.

I tried the Extreme test and Heaven shows (4095MB) x1 but the card has 6GB? I checked GPU-z and it shows 6GB. Not too concerned there just wanna know whats going on.

My main question and concern:

My GTX 780 SC SLI on extreme test gave me the following results:

I'm OC to 4.5 Watercooled, system not showing that.

FPS: 120.6
Score: 3039
Min FPS: 33.6
Max FPS: 221.6

Platform:
Windows NT 6.2 (build 9200) 64bit
CPU model:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4690K CPU @ 3.50GHz (3499MHz) x4
GPU model:
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 9.18.13.5012 (3072MB) x2

Now i ran the 980 ti

FPS: 111.2
Score: 2802
Min FPS: 9.2
Max FPS: 219.7

Platform:
Windows NT 6.2 (build 9200) 64bit
CPU model:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4690K CPU @ 3.50GHz (3499MHz) x4
GPU model:
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 9.18.13.5306 (4095MB) x1

Ok so i knew from the get go that my 780 SC SLI was a bit more powerful than the 980 TI but really min FPS 9.2? compare to Min 33.6? i mean i know the 780 has more raw power but damn the 980 made me look terrible and making me regret the purchase, seems like a downgrade more than anything. Of course this is just the Benchmark, all the games i been playing (GTA v, AC unity,wolf,BF4, witchers) all made a huge jumped from the 780 SLI, i can maxed everything now playing at 1440p.

But again, did i downgrade sort of speak?

Thanks in advance.

Benchmarks do not tell the whole story.
All tests will have a few occasional high frame times. What counts is if their frequency or duration is excessive.

Go with your experience showing better performance in YOUR games.
I would expect smoother gameplay across the board.

Yes i agree.

All my games now especially GTA v and AC unity are well over the 60 and 90 FPS, all maxed out, very smooth.

That 6GB is a nice upgrade from the 780 3GB

Man ever since my upgrade to the 980 TI from my 780 SLI setup i havent looked back. SLI is a waste of time an money. an is supported badly, in most cases. I am big on high FPS an ULTRA settings, especially Navidia only Tech like hairworks. I can now run hair works max with 8xAA an everything else maxed out. only think i have on high an not ultra is shadows an population.. Was getting around 45 an 30 FPS on my SLI an now i am getting 55 to 60 over all. That an the 900 series will get a boost with DX 12 not sure how much but it could only be good.... I would say that it is not a Down grade not when your getting better performance.
