I'm intending on upgrading my PC, and I was GOING to buy two 1080s but since my friend is upgrading to them he's going to sell me his two 980 Ti's for $700 and the availability to maybe add a third REGARDLESS of the SLI issues.

These are his cards: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487144

Currently my system is:
4770k clocked at 4.4
Zotac GTX 970 with +250 and +607 mem
16 GB DDR3 @ 2133
MSI Z87 G45 mobo
Toshiba 2 tb 7200 RPM
OCZ 120 gb SSD
Corsair HX850w
and about 5 peripherals

Now, I know I could use a PSU calculator but even when I was first building this system they were overrating the power draw. And I've searched around and found that some people could run two and everything else at 850 without an OC. I plan on OC'ing both cards and keeping my CPU OC but I could sacrifice a little. Do I need to upgrade or could I keep it how it is until later? And what PSU upgrade would be a good one if I need it?

Solution
You are all good to go with the HX850, it will handle both the 980ti's in SLI and an OC, just keep an eye on your temps if you do so and increase the power targer/temp target and fan curve in EVGA precision or MSI afterburner. A side case fan is always a bonus for SLI set ups.
