So right now I have GTX 1070 which I can sell for 550$ in my country then I thought
I can replace it with 2 used GTX 980 TI including warranty for 600$
First
Will those 2 gtx 980 ti give me the same amount of fps like the gtx 1080 ti?
Second
Will my CPU(I5 8400) bottleneck gtx 980 TI SLI?

The reason I wanna do that because for 50$ I can get a bigger amount of FPS in games and I always wanted to have 2 GTX founders edition in my PC build so it will match with the rest of my razer equipment

I have an LG ultrawide monitor,2560x1080

I know that this will be overkill for that resolution but still games are really bad optimized these days, when I am playing GTA V,PUBG and Rust it's hard to get stable 60 FPS at max settings
BTW my monitor is 75hz so as I know I'm not truly using it

@WildCard999

You have read my question wrong m8
In my country GTX 1080 TI costs 1000$ and I'm not willing to spend that much money
What I asked is,will I get the same amount of FPS like the GTX 1080 TI in games like GTA V,PUBG,Rust at resoultion 2560x1080 and Will my I5 8400 be bottleneckd by GTX 980 TI SLI

BTW thanks for the fast help :)

Sorry about that, misread a bit. Tbh I'd keep your 1070, 980 ti SLI is going to be problematic at that resolution and if there's no SLI drivers then the game will run as good as a single card or even worse.

There won't be a bottleneck for that SLI I just don't think it's worth it over your single card.

Thanks but look at this one

So the difference between GTX 980 TI and GTX 1080 TI should be like 10 FPS

Is it wurf to upgrade from GTX 1070 to 980 TI SLI for just 10-15 FPS?
I mean my PC build would be sexy as hell but issues with temperatures,SLI support in newer upcoming games..
What do you think, should I take the risk?

I wouldn't, I came from GTX 780 6gb SLI since 2014 and finally got sick of high temps and poor SLI drivers which caused graphic issues in my games. Oct 2017 I dumped the SLI setup and went for a 1080 ti and won't look back. Games years earlier had better support then it does now and even AAA games such as the Division had issues. And yes the system looks great but how often are you staring at it or showing ppl your system?

Also spending $50 for a 10-15 FPS increase just isn't worth it imo. You can take the risk if you want and you may like it at first but I think eventually you'll realize you made a mistake when your games aren't utilizing both GPU's.

Some of those games are poorly optimized. Not really much a faster GPU setup will do. PUGB specifically I'm pretty sure doesn't support SLI since it is on Unreal 4. Rust is CPU bound if I recall. GTA V probably runs okay on your system?

I have SLI 980s and I basically decided on a single 1080 when Unreal 4 announced they were basically dropping support for it. They use a method so the GPU only works on pixels that have changed, sort of like video compression. AFR wouldn't work for that.

Only good news is that Multi-GPU is a thing with DX12, but up to developers to implement. I believe CryEngine 5 supports it.

Still, single card solutions are the way to go going forward. The percentage of people with dual GPUs has to be well under 1%, why cater to them when you can sell decently performing games to the masses without the overhead of developing SLI or Crossfire or Multi-GPU.

So for those 3 CPU intenisive games like PUBG,GTA V and Rust should I upgrade from my i5 8400 to i7 8700k or stay on GTX 1070 right now and for about 2 years add one more/or sell it and buy the newer GTX 2000 series?

That would help a little, but that system should run most games quite well. Only the really highly threaded games would benefit more. A six core Intel CPU is pretty good. Adding hyperthreading has less effect than say adding two more cores. Might wait and see if Intel 8 core are going to work in your motherboard before making a decision.
