i have the Gigabyte GA-B85M-D2V and was wondering if i'm not gonna over clock the gtx 980ti would it work good on my motherboard

not if ur overclocking using software like afterburner or precisionx. it should work without any of that bios stuff. i am personally running that same card on an Asus p5e motherboard (from the yorkfield days) without issue or bios upgrade.
