GTX 980 with Three Monitors

My question is will a single gtx 980 be able to run on 3 BenQ GW2760HS's which is 1920 x 1080 times 3? Will I still be able to consistently have 50-60 or more fps on highest settings?

check the 4k results of the card. they are about what you would get on 3x1080p
(3x 1980x 1080 = ~6.200.000 pixels and 4k is about 8.000.000 pixels so take the 4k score add about 10% to the fps and it is what you get.

are you saying that a single 3820x2160 monitor is around the same or harder on a graphics card than 1920x1080 x3?
if I did my math correctly 3820 x 2160= 8294400 pixels and 1920 x 1080= 2073600 pixels and then times that number by 3 for the 2 extra monitors and you get 6220800 pixels. with the 3 monitor setup that is still a little bit over 2 million pixels less than a single 4k monitor so will I actually see better performance on triple 1920x1080 monitors than I would with a single 4k monitor?

Are you going to be running games across all three monitors? Or are the extras there for Maps/internet and movies and things? Because rendering a still image like a web page or an easily displayed thing like a movie has far less strain on the GPU then rending a full 3D environment of a video game.

I will be using them for surround gaming so all 3 monitors will be used for gaming at the same time also I have a crappy 1280x1024 20in" monitor that I might hook up above the center monitor for web browsing or regular computer uses but I dont know if thats even possible because of the difference in resolutions. Is it?

Not to sure how the surround works with Nvidia Eyefinity and if any extra monitors can be hooked up, but having different resolution monitors works fine, I did it back in the day for a two monitor set up one a 16:9 22" 1080p the other a 4:3 17" can't remember the res lol. But yes the the 4K results are at about 20% more pixels so you should expect around 10-20% more then the benchmarks for the 4K ones.

Eyefinity is amd. Surround does support a 4th accessory monitor that can be a different res. Just the 3 in surround need to be the same.

I'm kind of really excited about getting 3 monitors and now I'm even more excited now that I know I will be getting better performance than a single 4k monitor. I was going to get a single 144hz refresh rate monitor for nvidea 3d but having the surround monitors sounds a lot more apealing than a monitor that supports 3d. Oh man I can't wait to play some elder scrolls, eve, bf4, crysis, or any game really that will support surround and also give me a really good edge in pvp

+ or - a 10% penalty for optimizations on a single 4k versus tripple monitors the number of pixels is what affects a card's performance

I will be getting 3 of the BenQ GW2760HS http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824014373 the bezels on them seem pretty thin ive seen a few videos about that monitor and people like the monitor its got really good viewing angles, the colors seem right and it sports a 4ms response time now for how it does on ghosting i dont know i couldnt find anything about that monitor and ghosting

Single 1200p monitor: 90-100 fps
Dual monitors: 58-65 fps.

So about half.
I would on that basis estimate a 3rd monitor to go down to 30-40 fps. And then a little higher, because you only have 108p: ~ 50 fps.

If the fourth monitor is not part of the Surround setup then it will not display anything, black screen, nish. If it is made part of the Surround group then all the monitors MUST share the same resolution.

I don't game on dual monitors - i did it to measure the performance.

But how is it a measure of performance if they are not both performing the same single task? Both the GPU and drivers are performing quite a different task when doing your test and running a game in Surround. I have done these things and the numbers didn't translate for me.
