Question above, which one would be a better choice?

I would like to buy GTX 980 since by the benchmarks it just rocks in 1080p gaming but the problem is that I have a weak 550W PSU that I believe would barely handle 980, let alone an overclocked one.

BUT I could buy R9 390X or a normal 390 with a 750W PSU for the same price as a single GTX 980 so I am really confused...

Solution
Agreed, for a GTX 980 you would want a better PSU.

From your first post, the R9 390 would be a great choice for 1080p gaming (you'll max all current games on ultra without a problem if you have a good CPU to go with it) and a new high-quality 550w-650w PSU would provide a great base for future upgrades down the road.

Yeah, I though as much that if I wanted to get 980 I should get a better PSU with it. But what about R9 390 ? Should I get the normal one or the boosted version ?
