So I was playing AC: Origins and I was experiencing 2-3 second stutters, at first I thought it was my cpu because I was in a densely populated area in the game then my display suddenly died so my first instinct was to restart my pc, There was no display so I looked at my case window revealing that my g1 980ti has stopped working, no power receiving at all(no led , no fans and can't be detected.) I will bring it to the store i bought it from hoping that the 3 year distro warranty can cover it. But first I will bring it to my friend's house and test it with his pc.This card was rma'd dec 2016 and was replaced with a brand new card and I've been using it ever since. My question is could it be my gpu just reached it's lifespan or maybe a bad psu or a bad pcie socket?? I'm really hoping it's my psu or pcie sokcet. I am looking forward to explanations of my card dying because I don't understand how gpu's work besides gaming. Thanks !

PS: The shop took my card for warranty but it's waiting for approval due to tiny scratches on the backplate. Can scratches on the backplate void my warranty?
