(GTX 980Ti)What do I connect this to?

The cable in the 8 pin slot is connected to my PSU with 2 PCI-e cables. I can't figure out what to do with the 6 pin slot though...

I couldn't find a picture of the cable that came with it but what do I connect the other side to? It has 2 connectors with 3 long pins in each one.

This card uses one 6pin and one 8pin connection to the PSU to power it. Both will need to be connected for proper function.

You may find that your PSU has a 6+2 pin connector option, and then you just separate the two unneeded pins, and just plug in the 6 that remain.

If your PSU does not have two connectors like this, then you need a new PSU to power this card.

I have a fully modular PSU, I just have no idea what to connect the cable in the 6 pin slot with... It kind of looks like this

but black and only 3 pins in it.

As Geekwad says, you should have a black 8 pin connector and a six pin or (6+2) connector which you need to connect to the card and to your PSU. If your still struggling tell us the model number of your PSU. The 8 pin connector should look like this

Connected it with one of the peripheral cables... it didnt go in at first so I thought it was the wrong one.

Are you sure you have used the correct cables and have the 8pin and 6pin connectors plugged in correctly? You risk damaging the card if not.

I unplugged everything now and put the 2 short cables that came with the GPU away... I've used 2 PCI-e cables now that came with the PSU and plugged them directly in the GPU.

That's great.

The cables that come with it (that you had pictured) are really just a last-resort, make-it-work adapter that shouldn't be used if at all possible. It is a Molex to PCIe adapter, and is only used for PSUs that don't have/come with the right connector.

It leaves out the fact that if it doesn't have the right connector, it's probably not the kind of PSU that you want powering a very expensive expansion card, but manufacturers include it anyway....
